Jess's Field Trips

OK, so I ended up doing almost nothing exciting over summer vacation, so let's just skip right to the fun part- the beginning of seventh grade!
The first thing I have to mention is feng shui (pronounced "fung shway"). Feng shui is a series of Chinese secrets for good luck. For some reason, I decided to personalize all my stuff this year for two reasons. One, I didn't want it all to "run away" like it did last year, and Two, I wanted to base it on feng shui. See, according to feng shui, colors can influence your life based on what you want to achieve. Red means good luck and fame, orange means power, yellow means happiness, green means growth, blue means calm, purple means wealth, pink means love, brown means stability, and black means wisdom. For my school supplies, I decorated them with the colors orange, yellow, green, purple, pink, and black. I used Post-its for the labels (yellow) and drew designs and my name on it with orange, green, purple, pink, and black using my felt-tip pens.
Next I have to tell you about all the stuff! My backpack was super heavy, plus I had to carry my instrument and a ginourmous bag of gym clothes! (Turns out I didn't need them- we have Health instead of gym for twelve weeks!)
Then there was my bus! It had such a long route that it covered 5 subdivisions and passed the school about 3 times before we finally arrived. And you know what's even worse!? It's driven by two old people who had absolutely no idea what they were doing!!! I ended up being extremely late for Orchestra class!
My next topic is the teachers. My orchestra teacher Ms. Schlienat is cool! I know because I had her last year, too! She loves to scream and be extremely dramtic about stuff!
Mrs. Buck, my algebra teacher, is very understanding! She always tells me to just cool it ! She doesn't seem to mind about my screw-ups!
My new teacher for Learning Stratagies (resource) is Mrs. Williams. She is really funny and likes my creativity. She likes word finds and prints them out just for us! Awesome!
My Health teacher is Mr. Arico. He's the only teacher I don't especially like. He's kind of strict and insists on saying, "Does everyone understand?" 80 million times a class!
Mr. Kinney, my Social Studies teacher, is always willing for someone to ask questions or get caught in a discussion and then lose sight of the whole point of the class!
Ms. Coe, my science teacher, likes to lecture us on everyhting! She wants us to do everything and write everyhting down in a Composition notebook. (I personally think she is obsessed with Comoposition books!)
Now we saved the best for last- my Language teacher, Mrs. Farooqui. She rules!!! She knows me from camp and summer school, and she's passionate about everything, The Belle of the Ball. She even lets us use ipods! (Unfortunately, I don't have one yet!)
That's it for now! I'll keep you updated!
Ciao for Now,
-Jess
